- Job Title: IT Network Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking a versatile, motivated, and client-focused Network Engineer to join our growing team in Georgia. In this role, you will play a foundational part in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure to ensure high performance, security, and uptime.
As an early member of our team, you will have a direct impact on both technical deployment and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate must possess excellent customer service skills, as you will interact directly with clients to understand their needs, provide technical guidance, and deliver exceptional support.
This position also requires flexibility for regional travel to support on-site deployments.
Core Responsibilities
Infrastructure Deployment
Configure, install, and support core network hardware, including enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Client Relations & Technical Support
Serve as a primary technical point of contact for clients. Provide professional, courteous, and timely communication regarding project updates, troubleshooting steps, and technical recommendations.
On-Site Implementations & Travel
Travel to various project sites and client locations as needed to conduct site surveys, oversee hardware installations, and perform hands-on, client-facing troubleshooting.
Physical & Layer 1 Management
Oversee structured cabling projects (copper/fiber), optimize telecommunications room layouts, and handle equipment racking and stacking.
Wireless Engineering
Plan, deploy, and optimize enterprise-grade wireless networks; conduct site surveys and troubleshoot connectivity or density issues.
Observability & Troubleshooting
Proactively monitor network traffic and performance metrics using enterprise logging/SIEM tools. Diagnose and resolve complex Tier 2/3 technical issues promptly.
Documentation
Create and maintain clear, accurate network diagrams, configuration standards, and technical documentation for both internal use and client handovers.
Required Technical Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
3+ years of hands-on experience in network administration or network engineering
Prior experience in a client-facing technical role or managed services (MSP) environment is highly preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
Technical Competencies
Strong configuration and troubleshooting skills with major enterprise networking platforms such as Cisco, Meraki, or Arista
Solid understanding of core networking protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), and SD-WAN
Experience with network security equipment and next-generation firewalls
Familiarity with enterprise monitoring, logging, and observability platforms such as Splunk or similar tools
Travel & Physical Requirements
Willingness and ability to travel to various client sites as required by project demands (domestic/regional travel)
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Ability to work in data centers or telecommunications closets, including lifting and racking enterprise hardware up to 35 lbs
Preferred Certifications
The following certifications are considered a strong plus:
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Meraki Solutions Design / Operator certifications
Arista Certified Engineering Associate (ACEA)
Splunk Core Certified User / Power User
